An 80-year-old woman walking on Shelter Rock Road in Herricks was hit and killed by a car, Nassau County police said.
The woman was at the intersection of Shelter Rock Road and Moore Street when she was hit by a 1999 Toyota driven by a 71-year-old man, police said.
The woman was taken to Winthrop-University Hospital in Mineola, where she was pronounced dead, police said.
