Pedestrian struck and killed in Brentwood

Police are looking for a dark sedan involved in a hit and run that killed a pedestrian in Brentwood, Suffolk police said.
The pedestrian was crossing Suffolk Avenue east of Eastern Avenue when he was hit by a 1989 Nissan driven by an 18 year old from Bay Shore. A second vehicle swerved and avoided hitting the victim, then stopped. The man was then hit by a third vehicle -- a four-door, dark colored sedan that left the scene.
Det. Sgt. Jeffrey Walker said it appeared that the victim was injured but alive after he was hit by the Nissan, but was killed when the dark sedan hit him.
The man was taken by Brentwood Legion Ambulance to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, where he was pronounced dead. Police are continuing an investigation. Walker said the entire incident was captured on a security video, which police are reviewing.
