Florida Woman Dies in Motor Vehicle Crash

Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a Florida woman.

A 60 woman was driving a 2012 Chevrolet westbound on Cedar Road when she stopped at a red light at the Larkfield Road intersection in East Northport. When the light turned green, the woman continued to head westbound when her vehicle was struck by a 1994 Ford Van that was heading northbound on Larkfield Road and had driven through a red light.

The woman was transported to Huntington Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. The passenger in her car, the woman's 11-year-old granddaughter, and the driver of the van, were also transported to Huntington Hospital, where they were both treated and released.

The driver of the van, of 641 Pulaski Road, East Northport, was issued a summons for driving through a red light. Both vehicles where impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing.
