Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Motor Vehicle Crash

Suffolk County Police Third Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that seriously injured a pedestrian.

The pedestrian was crossing Union Boulevard at Windsor Avenue in Bay Shore when he was struck by a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am that was traveling westbound on Union Boulevard.

The victim, 26, of Swan Lane, Levittown, was transported by ambulance to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore where he was admitted in critical condition. The operator of the Grand Am, a 22 year old from West Islip, was not injured in the crash.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing.
